Are you someone that sets reading goals? I set all kinds of goals every year; I achieve some of them and some of them fall by the wayside before January is over. Every year, though, I set reading goals and work hard to attain them. Sometimes they are in the form of a fun reading challenge (I may or may not attempt the 339 Books of Rory Gilmore someday) or sometimes it’s a number. Did I mention a million times I hit my goal of 100 books last year (the 100th book came in at about 6pm on New Year’s Eve, but I still got it)???

This year’s number goal was smaller, only 70 books, but I had some specific categories in mind for books I wanted to read. While I probably won’t look back at the Coronavirus as a good thing, being temporarily laid off gave me a lot of time at home to listen to books while I organized my office. 18 books in the month of April gave me a big push to hitting my number goal, but set me back on my goal of listening to all of Philippa Gregory’s Plantagenet/Tudor novels because the libraries were closed and I couldn’t get them.

So here is my original list of my reading goals with a mid-year status update (for a little accountability and maybe to plant a seed if you’ve never thought of doing something like this).

1. The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels (15)

So there you have it

So far, I’ve read and/or listened to 60 of the 70 books for my reading goal, but you can see that I’ve got some gaps in my categories. I’ve also gotten distracted from my TBRs and have only read a couple from it LOL. You can check out my Monthly Wrap Ups to see what other books I’ve read and get my thoughts on them. If you have any biographies or autobiographies to recommend, I’d love to hear them!

I’d also love to hear about your reading goals. What do you do?
